Oh, yes very southern-gothic (especially in the lyrical themes/imagery, which is why it's always what I'd listen to while writing my horror story about a murderous blind farmer)-- and then of course Nick is always doing variations of old southern folk/blues songs and murder ballads--or, well, he was for a while-- but he never quite pulls it off.
