Tell him that you were playing free jazz and it was unethical to stop. He'll understand.

Luckily it's a jazz class and therefore completely meaningless.

yeah the credit hours arent really important either but like it's 25% of my grade so i am kind of upset over it.

Just come into class with a saxophone and confront your professor with a sweet sax solo. He'll give you an A on the spot or he's not a real jazz man.
