For whatever reason, viewing the first episode of BBC's The Prisoner is making me greatly regret not starting my surrealist horror news/cult podcast years ago, long before Welcome to Night Vale came along. What I wanted (and still may) to do would have been similar, but a lot more understated and slow-burning (a bit like a droning NPR radio show hosted by a WASP-y New England lady) -- no overt implications of tentacles in the sky or anything-- and it would have tied into an accompanying site consisting of newsletters and informational articles for this fictional town. I would likely need a couple reliable people to serve as voice actors, though. (The people I tested back then were terrible.) I lost most of my outlines of the finer details and plot points for this theoretical radio show, but I think I may begin building it again.
