GONE SUGARING...it's nice to know there's another vegan on MB. I hated cow's milk as a child, especially when I had some warm, pretty much straight from a cow. Milk always had a sour taste...and it was so *frothy*. Yech. If cow's milk was masked with chocolate I'd drink it, or sweetened with heftly spoonfuls of sugar that shimmered in the supersweet milk at the bottom of my Cheerios bowl! I actually used to eat Cheerios with orange juice a lot as my favorite snack. And now I'm recalling how milk, if you heat it, gets that little membranous skin on top...kind of slimy, like mucus. Ugh. Then when I combined in the animal issues, etc., cow's milk was a lose-lose proposition for me. In contrast, vanilla flavored rice drink tastes to me like a thawed vanilla milkshake, and I very much like it. Even my father-in-law who doesn't understand veganism (veganism = reducing the suffering of sentient beings such as by not eating/using animal products) said Rice Dream vanilla rice beverage was good on his breakfast cereal! (No, I don't work for the RICE DREAM company. Really.) --Erica |

It's not really correct for them to say, but some try to justify their actions by saying fish don't have feelings... which still doesn't make them a vegetarian. |

Anyone who calls themselves a vegetarian and eats fish is a complete knobhead and a hypocrite. I have pulled many vegetarians up on the fact that they are wearing leather shoes and they didn't even realise it. Twonks.
I was a vegetarian for four years back in the 90's but it was the by products in other foods that I was having to not eat that got to me (namely gelatine). it's a lot better now and I do have a couple of meat free days still for health reasons.

So they'll buy leather stuff and get offended if I don't wear it. Especially since they don't buy me things often. It's horrid. |

AWWSUGAR (the X's ARE gone! I miss them), I didn't know you are vegetarian!!! (Whether someone is vegetarian, of course, cannot easily be discerned by looking at the font used in posts, since then one is missing the unmistakable and visible Secret Vegetarian Handshake clue that allows us to recognize each other in the physical world). --Erica |

Yes, lately I've tried to keep quiet about myself in general. I'd rather not get into debates about my morals. Or lack there of. xD |
