i have a beard but i keep it short because it doesnt look correct when it gets sort of long. even short, i need a hair cut about every two months lol.

Scent mainly. And olive oil would probably make your face and beard too greasy.

I really dislike scented stuff. My girlfriend even more so.
Money isn't an issue, I just wouldn't like buying snake oil.

Try some olive oil or coconut oil if you want. It's not going to kill you. I put coconut oil in mine but it smelled like vomit.
