Update. This is about 14 days worth. It does usually take a good few weeks to get a good beard so I'm pleased with the progress thus far:

Every time I try to grow a beard, it starts out fine and then becomes more and more irritating until I can't stand it any longer and have to shave it off. And that's a shame because I can grow a mean beard but haven't done so in 4 years.

In my experience (which is next to none, because I'm young and my beard is uneven sh*te), you just have to fight through a while and then it'll stop itching.

Unrelated:

When i said I had a beard that resembled Johnny Depp's earlier back, by the way, I never claimed it looked like a well groomed beard, or that it even looked good on me, just that it was the same style.
