Well, last night my dad got bit by a copperhead snake and is in the hospital for treatment.. so my mom's mother's day gift is a few days of peace and fucking quiet.
I also bought her some crawfish.

They're just starting to get big right now. A little later than usual. The batch we got today had some monsters in it finally. A couple weeks ago all we could find was medium to small. At least the prices dropped after Good Friday rolled by.

Nice.
Live, right? Cause no matter what you do, you can always make 'em taste better than the pre-cooked outlets. One thing I'm adamant about is using Zatarain's crab boil (liquid) when I'm boiling crawfish. It's an absolute necessity. Salt, obviously. Throw in some potatoes, corn on the cob, Onions, a little garlic, and after they're boiled let 'em soak for at least 20 minutes. Epic drools.

maybe a bit late, but maybe i can save someone a little for next year.
don't be one of those lame @zzes that goes to the flower shop at the last minute with $50 and expects the world. people like my wife, who make your arrangements, have to work the holiday because of people like that. go early, and spend at least $100. then the designers won't hate you, and mom will refer to you as "the good son" |
