Default Torrent speed

I currently have BitComet on my computer, not that I ever use it to get music... but if hypothetically speaking I was, does anyone know what I could do or download to make my torrents download faster?

Please and thanks to everyone!

What's your connection speed?

I've used UTorrent on a standard DSL connection and, without modifying settings, downloaded at 450 kbps as a standard average. I can't imagine needing a faster average unless I was downloading multiple files, which, I don't recommend. Don't be greedy. Give 'er one at a time.

Yeah, I do mutiple files and always discographies. Some download at about 100kps, but that's about the highest it gets. Usually it's between 20kps - 60kps.

Also consider the seeds and peers.
If a file you're downloading doesn't have a lot of peers seeding it, you don't have as many sources to download from.

For example:
If I tried searching for an obscure band that isn't hosted by many people and has very little seeds, I won't get the speed results compared to a download that does.

^^^This...

There are ways to maximise ports size, but most of the time this shouldn't be an issue...

For the more obscure stuff, chances are you'll get it faster via blogs... Unless it has dedicated seeders (As most Invite torrent sites will)

Join a site that has private or well seeded torrents. The public garbage from pirate bay and such is almost never fast. Try demoniod and the new oink

Demonoid is invite only and it's only one invite per user and I've already invited someone.

Another trick is to limit your upload speed to the lowest possible while it's downloading.

Yes, but as far as I know they've already invited someone. The thing a lot of people don't really understand about demonoid is that it's a very dedicated community. You are expected to upload torrents and that site mainly deals with discographies, a lot of people just go there and leech and then they eventually get booted off because they do keep track of your download to upload ratio.

OKAY. That, discographies, seeding. I'm willing to seed 100% percent every discography I leech if someone who has Demonoid invites me. Also, does anyone know how to make torrents?

My Bitcomet's listen port has been blocked by something apparently.
Edit: Unblocked the UPnP Framework in Windows Firewall. No change.
