When you're there on your own, as I said, try writing :

/server irc.rizon.net
/join #musicbanter

This is to make sure you're on the right server. If that doesn't work, I suggest you read the tutorial again. You probably missed something! Step 3 would be a good place to look.

I don't know it, but you could try ircle! You can read about it and download it from this site -> i r c l e . c o m

The tutorial should still be able to help you. The only information you need to connect is this :

Server : irc.rizon.net
port : 6667 (standard port)
channel : #musicbanter

The commands you need to know to get onto #musicbanter once you've connected to any IRC server are these :

/server irc.rizon.net (if you're on another server, use this to jump to the rizon network)
/join #musicbanter
