We weren't discussing that DJ. The issue in the discussion was long term effects of birth control vs getting a vasectomy. Obviously the option of still wanted a kid tosses a wrench into the discussion. Condom vs Birth Control would probably be more relative.

Well you said "Do you mean a vasectomy?" before I posted the article. And then people kind of just talked about vasectomies from there. What I meant was I was just mentioning the possibility of that other form of birth control, not the permanent vasectomy.

And I know guys who said they would do it. It basically makes it really easy and when you're ready to have kids, you just undo the process.

I didn't know they could be reversed. I wonder if reversal works because I'm sure the body would build up scar tissue inside the vas deferens.

I'm fairly certain that tubal ligation for women is permanent, though, because the surgery is way more invasive. My aunt had this done (after 4 children lol) and said she was put under for it.

You can get your tubes untied if I'm not mistaken. But I'm not talking about vasectomies, I'm talkiing about the BC in the article I posted before.

I just want to be sterilized before any accidents happen. I wouldn't even be sad if I had cancer in my reproductive organs.

I've never wanted children, I feel sick over the thought of pregnancy or motherhood or having some little brat tugging at my clothes and hair for the rest of my life. To hell with that bullshit.

the lack of money/adequate health care.

Otherwise I'd have that taken care of ASAP.

I hear it's very difficult to get sterilized when you haven't got any children - I've read horror stories of child-free women having to spend YEARS trying to find a doctor who isn't judgmental. They always try to tell you "you'll change your mind" and they'll make you feel like you're not capable of making your own decisions just because you haven't experienced it yet.

Thankfully, society is becoming more accepting toward the child-free. (Though I've been called plenty of names and even received death threats for simply politely voicing my choices.) So when the opportunity comes along, I'm getting my tubes tied (though I'd really like a full hysterectomy).

It will be easier for you to get your tubes tied than to get a full hysterectomy. They generally don't perform hysterectomies unless there's a serious medical issue, like cancer or unmanageable fibroids or something.
