theres plenty of different females birth control options now. pills, shots, etc

ive been with responsible women who took the pill daily. no issues whatsoever. they found it worked for them. also been with irresponsible women too.

my initial point was that the reason male birth control isnt big is because there isnt something CONVENIENT and reliable like a pill to take... as far as i know and unless someone can show me otherwise, the only male birth control methods involve incisions to the sac. the financial reasonings in the article seem to make sense. but the fact that most men probably arent giddy to jump at the chance to have a scalpel on their nuts probably wouldnt let male birth control be widely used. and especially considering so many women are already using birth control for whatever reasons they have.

also i realize the availabilit of male bc hinges on initial contracts to make it available, but im sayin that even WITH that as a given i dont think male BC would be very widely used in its current form

It actually effects all womens body chemistry. Four of my buddies have had a vasectomy. It literally takes a few minutes after the local anasthetic. You can literally even work the same day. If your girlfriend is fine taking birth control thats not my problem but to think it isn't harmful in the long term is pulling the wool over your eyes. I care about my girl so i'm having it done, its reassuring to know that she won't have these chemicals in her body for life.

im aware of how a vasectomy works. i think you are greatly exagerating the negative effects of birth control though. you really seem to be on your pedestal, lets all give you a hand for bein such a great boyfriend, is that what u hope to accomplish?? birth control is perfectly safe for most women and i dont think it makes someone a bad boyfriend for not choosing to sterilize themself

No one said it wasn't safe, it just doesn't feel good. It's not without side effects.

Some people have nausea, get acne, , have horrible mood swings, lose their appetites and more. There are a lot of possibilities.

What I was initially referring to was that you made it sound like it was so simple. "Just swallowing the pill."
it's much more than that. Just because there's no knife involved doesn't mean it's isn't just as bad. While after one form, you can go straight to work, another may take time to get used to, really affecting your entire being.

He is spot on with the negative effects of the pill and the shot though. Even if the dosage is low, it's not THAT low and still alters your body chemistry. Unlike low dose hormonal IUDs which essentially become part of your natural body chemistry (steady, long term release for up to 5 years), with the pill you are giving the body a sudden hit of hormones every morning.

Not to mention Formation of cysts, blood clots, Increased chance of cancer, irregularity in menstrual bleeding, blood pressure issues.

So you're gonna disregard all the other info I pointed out, ok. I don't have a clue how old you are, but if you are gonna be with somebody for a long period of time birth control does cause issues. Vasectomys don't have age limits.

no i quoted the specific part of ur post that implied it was basically harmful to all women. it was a direct response to arya's statement that nobody said it was harmful.

sure vasectomies can be had by anyone. as someone who is not past the age of wanting kids i think it would be pretty stupid to get a vasectomy. then later down the road decide i want kids and have to try to get a reversal which arent always succesful. the mayo clinic has very varied stats on pregnancy rates following reversals and i wouldnt want to put my prospects of fatherhood at risk like that. but to each their own, whatever works for u i guess
