Believe it or not, men don't befriend women just to fuck them.
Most of my closest friendships have been with women because they are generally easier for me to talk to than men. Also, I can get drunk/high with them without aiming for sex just as easily as I can with male friends. In fact, for me, once a friendship is established sex is generally out of question. But that's just me.

Back to Circe's issue: I don't think that telling her not to have friendships with men is good advice. She seems to know what works for her.
