I think that should be merged with anti-war songs. It's hard to be wrong when bitching about war, but most anti-war metal lyrics are still too simplistic to be useful: "War is bad, m'kay?" When Dave Mustaine tries for more ambitious topics, like the UN or domestic politics, he's failing just as much as Slayer with "War Ensemble". Slayer just has the benefit of picking a topic that's hard to really **** up. Ol' Davey Dave shoulda just stuck with vague bitching like "Peace Sells". It's snarky, but being pissed at the vague concept of political corruption is also universal. Whining about liberals being the Antichrist... not so much.

Honestly, I think that metal in general should stay away from politics. War makes for badass lyrics, even if they're ****ty. And that's really what blue collar is about: badass for the sake of badass.

Agreed but always dug Holy Wars - The Punishment Due.

Some people risk to employ me
Some people live to destroy me
Either way they die

They killed my wife, and my baby
With hopes to enslave me
First mistake, last mistake!
Paid by the alliance, to slay all the giants
Next mistake, no more mistakes!

Isn't that one about the comic book character "The Punisher"?
