To be honest I find them quite irritating when their wranglers let them get out of hand. They will never contribute anything useful to society and they probably don't really enjoy life at all. Once such a genetic abnormality is removed from the human race, people will essentially be a little bit better off.

I don't think I've ever actually seen a severely mentally disabled person on a jobsite but I'm sure they're somewhere. What do they do when their caretakers die?

I'm not saying they're any more or less irritating than every other human being on the face of this planet, just excessively needy and mostly incapable of achieving things on a more complex level.

There's this really weird guy I see once in a while at one of the bus stops around where I work. He makes really awkward noises, digs around in the garbage, and smells like he's just shit himself. All I can think of is "isn't there someone to take care of this guy?" He's not homeless, just severely mentally stunted. We can talk all we want about compassion for the mentally retarded, but you can't deny that their behavior is just as irritating as a squirming, squealing, handsy child.
