People think they're cute but I wouldn't fancy being swiped by one of the hind leg spurs of a male platypus... they deliver fairly venomous poison which apparently has an excruciating effect on humans (not lethal though). Oh and they're one of the very few mammals to use electroreception to locate their prey.
