if it was a human baby, people would be all up in arms about it like WHERE WERE YOU, DO YOUR JOB AS A PARENT, THIS IS CHILD ABUSE etc., etc. but since it's "just a cat" (a breeder's favorite mantra) it's somehow "funny".

Well as a pet owner, I would take a cat to the vet if I saw it eat a rubber band, but if it's already hanging out I would wait to see if it can pass it. I mean it's half out. If it made it through their entire digestive system and made it half out their ass already I would guess they are probably capable of passing it. It's a floppy robber band, not a safety pin.

No but I think pulling it out would be a bad idea just in case it's caught on... I dunno, like an intestinal... fold... or something, I think the best approach would be to like wait a day or two then if it's still there go to the vet. |

Yeah, that's sort of what I figured. Only reason I'm asking is because I'm raising a kitten for the first time, and its always good to know this stuff. My first instinct would be to go to a vet so I guess I'm on the right track.
