Breaded, deep-fried moose with mashed potatoes and Brown sauce ( and some fresh thyme for that Master chef touch ). I basically did the same recipie you would.use for a chicken-fried steak but substituted moose ( cut = inner thigh because it is so tender). Since moose has a lot lower fat content than beef, I thought it might turn out dry. But cooking it in a deep-fat fryer cooked it evenly. Very yummy stuff. I used moose since we have tons of it in the freezer ( buy direct from the hunter so it's pretty great). |

Moose doesn't taste like chicken . It tastes like venison but less gamy. It's a good substitute for beef because it is alot less fatty and pure protein (and you don'thave to worry about stess affecting flavour since it is a clean shot on an animal that lived pretty good in northern sweden). I substitute moose in pretty much all beef dishes..tacos, stews, roasts.

Have eaten Gyro's for ages and love them. Finally had a Shawarma tonight at this place really close to where Linda lives. Two things that are basically so similar but also so very different. Gotta say I think I prefer the Shawarma, mainly because it's way less salty. Better combo of spices too. Both heavenly wraps though.
