Means "This done."
They're referring to the preperation of the stick that you gathered and cleaned. Maybe the stick is literally a stick from outside, so the ends and twigs would need to be cut. Back then, for the average bumpkin it was probably way easier to just make simple tools like beating sticks yourself than to waste money buying them from craftsmen. Although it also mentioms beating with a spoon, so maybe the stick is just for decoration or something? Edit: Or maybe they're talking about cutting four pieces off of a stick of butter? The way it's written, though, whatever the stick is, you're supposed to beat the ingrediants "therwith", which is an old timey way of saying "there with". So it could mean beating the ingrediants with the aforementioned stick, or beating the ingrediants including the pieces from the stick. So yeah, could be butter.

Yum. Toss in a few egg nogs with brandy and we've got a date.

I'm currently trying to decide what to make while waiting on espresso; in the fridge we have a tube of Pillsbury pizza dough as well as a tube of crescent roll dough. We also have mushrooms, two different kinds of pesto, and romano and parmesan cheese, marinara sauce, and spinach. I may do mini quiches with spinach and mushrooms, or maybe little pocket things with the crescent dough; haven't decided yet. Tragically, there are no onions!!! So I'm not sure what to do.

I also do this when cooking in bulk with things like tomato puree. I know if I put it in the fridge half used it will end up being thrown away, so I may as well get a spoon and consume it. |

Bought a roasting pan with a grate. Will be doing bone in-skin on chicken breasts on Sunday with twice baked cheddar potatoes and brussel sprouts with deli bacon and lemon.
Let me know if anyone wants a pic.
