The alcohol content per calorie is nearly identical. If he drank four beers at 6.5% instead of six pack of 4.2% his caloric intake will still be 600 calories with the same exact buzz. The only difference would be that he had two beer of 6.5% left over which I doubt he could resist drinking and thus adding a 50% more calories... calories that he was trying to advoid in the first place.
