Better than nothing I guess. I don't find PBR that bad actually...

You gotta do what you gotta do sometimes. I've had plenty of nights drinking beers with those most horrid, blasphemous words... "Lite"... suffixed to them.

Forward To Death 10-15-2012 10:29 PM

I am also drinking crappy beer because it's cheap. Grain Belt Premium, my go-to cheap beer.

LoathsomePete 10-15-2012 10:41 PM

My go-to beer when I was broke was this

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3291/...eff98df7f4.jpg

Dude Beer.

It was the cheapest beer I could buy at a B.C. Liquor Store at I think $7.99 a six pack, and it was warm. Sadly though, in B.C. there's only two places to get booze from, a Government sanctioned liquor store where prices are lower but nothing is refrigerated, and a cold beer and wine store, usually associated with a bar. You could also do off-sales with a bar for a six pack, but that was usually the most expensive. I remember a 6-pack of local beer costed me $16 from an off-sale.

So that beer was my go-to beer for being cheap as well as deterring my roommates at the time from drinking all my beer. They'd go as low as to drink my Molson Canadian, which is pretty much like drinking moose piss, but they wouldn't drink my Dude Beer.

On topic though, I'm drinking a warm milky cup o tea.

Forward To Death 10-16-2012 01:10 AM

The cheapest beer I've had is Blatz. $12 for a 24 pack. Of course you also get "The Blatz Splatz" with that 24 pack.

I'd drink Hamm's or Natty Ice before Blatz. Pure horse****.

Leonarrd 10-16-2012 03:18 AM

Well tonight is not special night for me, so as like the usual day I am going to drink Bear and to enjoy the night.

Mrd00d 10-16-2012 04:18 AM

Had a nice Ninkasi Imperiale Stout at 9.1% to wind down this evening. Just enough. Very pleasant.

*weeps*

Dude, that sucks. We've got government controlled liquor stores here in Virginia, but at least you can still buy beer just about anywhere. Delicious, cold beer. Not to mention a 40 oz. I'll pray for you.

Plankton 10-16-2012 08:40 AM

^Yeah, thats almost as bad as prohibition. At the rate I drink beer, I'd likely end up spending a few hundred a week on it.

I had one of these last night. I bought it because I had never had nor seen it before but it wasn't great. I found it fairly sweet, fairly easy to drink, fairly crisp and none of that was necessarily a bad thing. It had a bit of a dry finish which I didn't find particularly appealing. Pretty average blonde ale.

FRED HALE SR. 10-16-2012 10:01 AM

Couple Racer X's. Been meaning to try it as I drink primarily Double Ipa's. At 8.3 its right at the brink of being highly drinkable, should be nice for a fall evening.

It's apple cider season here in the U.S. Loving the sudden selection of ciders. Going to have a few apple/ginger cocktails, may add a little bourbon for extra kick. And it just gets better when eggnog season rolls around.

Mmm.

Mrd00d 10-17-2012 02:57 AM

Tonight it's a 6 pack from Bridgeport's Hop Czar, from Portland, Oregon coming in at 7.5%

Is that what it's like in BC? Or was like? Damn. We have government controlled liquor and beer stores in Ontario too, but there is a really wide selection of beers and wines and other drinks, often at fairly reasonable prices and sometimes even on sale!

Take up winemaking! It's a rewarding hobby that definitely pays off if you're underage.

Of course, hiding a vineyard from your parents could be problematic.

It wasn't too hard. The opium fields were a bitch, though.

What'd you do when the meth lab blew up half your parent's house?

Really well done local IPA, can you say sesh brew?

Rjinn 10-23-2012 05:59 AM

It's a shame you guys don't have Resch's pilsener. It's a classy old local dark beer in NSW that tastes great and is quite cheap.

Not bad on the ratings either. Some compared it to the Sierra Nevada pale. Looks tempting.

Blarobbarg 10-23-2012 09:19 AM

So a while ago someone in the Shoutbox (maybe Forward?) and I came up with a nasty cocktail. The Waits and Nugent. As in, Tom Waits and Ted Nugent. It's rum and grape soda with a twist of lime, on ice. Someone in here needs to make it and post the pictures and results, because my petty ego demands it.

No to sound negative or anything, but that just sounds a bit...long. Not snappy enough. Why not, Nugent Waits? It even sounds funny.

Love just about everything this Texas brewery puts out. This is probably my favorite from them and I just about screamed like a 15 year old girl seeing her BFF with a new hairdo when I saw this sitting on the shelf. The holidays never tasted so dang good!

A lot of people around here seem to think Potosi Brewery is one of, if not the best breweries in Wisconsin. This **** right here definitely helps their argument.

We gotta get some trade on homie. I've already sent a few out for Bob. That IPA looks right down my alley all the way to my backyard.

Ha! I blame the glass. I can't poor anything in there without it becoming a suds tower.

Blarobbarg 10-24-2012 05:45 PM

A really, really lame "pumpkin spice latte" from a mix that was given to me... from Starbucks. Not my first choice, and after drinking it, probably not my last choice. It's just not a choice, at all.

Now I feel a desperate need for REAL coffee, or an espresso, or really anything besides that nasty thing.
