A coworker recently went to the UP for the holidays and picked up a bottle of Bell's Wild One Ale for me. Needless to say, I was incredibly grateful and excited. This **** is some of the best beer you can get in the Midwest, bar none. Fermented in wooden barrels by wild yeasts then blended by Bell's brewers to taste to produce a unique product each batch. This **** is darker than your average ale with a bit of a rosy hue and burgundy tone. Vanilla, granny smith apple, smoke, bourbon, and oak notes and the perfect amount of hop flavor comes through at the end. |

Stone Collaborations - Evil Twin / Stillwater / Stone "The Perfect Crime" Black Smoked Saison
Stepping away from Ipa's for a few weeks. The cold weather has me thinking stouts but this Black Saison sounds tempting. Gonna buy a couple of these and finish off with a Vanilla Porter i have aging. |

I want to try that Shiner beer. I'm curious.
I had this one recently and I really want another. I cant find a picture of a pint of it but its a dark porter, brewed with fairtrade coffee beans, and is a little chocolatey. It's very dark and I was assuming it would be very thick and heavy but its actually a little lighter than anticipated and goes down very well. Very nice beer from a great local brewery, Mordue. |
