Not true!
I've drunk Guinness in England, N. Ireland, and (lots) in the US and I've loved every drop. If not for its painfully low ABV (you have to drink 4 pints to get half-drunk. Fun fact: Guinness-brewers keep its ABV low so that its taxation is less than higher ABV beers) it may just be the perfect tasting beer - even when shipped across an ocean
Age generally doesn't hurt beer, it usually helps. Tastes great, less filling.

edit: forgot to actually reply...

My oldest, bestest friend.

Stone Imperial Russian Stout... And once that runs dry in a minute, got Schell's Hopfenmalz in a 12-pack.

The stout is heavenly, btw.

Today I had a Meteor and a Wendelinus, which they only sold by the half pint for some reason. The Meteor was fantastic, really sweet, almost honey flavor. The Wendelinus actually packs a punch despite being nice and easy on the way down.
If they only sell it by the half or three-quarter glass, then it must be fairly strong. It must be pushing the 7% mark.

Well, I haven't had it in the US. I have had it abroad though and in most places it was foul. Obviously there are a lot of factors, how the owner has stored it, poured it etc, but personally I find it to be much, much nicer in Ireland.

My favorite.

Someone may have to go get another 12-pack. We are nearing the end.

Gatorade right now. Thursday, I'll be off antibiotics, so all bets are off!

It'll probably just be PBR on Thursday, though. I get paid Friday, and that will be the good stuff.
