I got a bottle of that stuff for like $3.95 at Wal-Mart a few months back and as I recall I felt the same way, better than what I was expecting but not something I'd drink on a regular basis.

I got Glenfiddich and Russian Standard both for £20 in the usual supermarket alcohol wars otherwise I am usually priced out of it too.

The taste or the effects? Because its great once you have it down, that is if it stays down. And also idk if it was real absinthe since it was only 69%.
