Has anyone had Ninkasi's Sleigh'r seasonal beer yet? I only really wanted to try it because of the name.

Plankton 12-21-2016 09:58 AM

I saw these and well... yeah...

http://thebeerdiaries.tv/wp-content/...itas-Sucks.jpg

I'll take a Brown Shugga over that any day tho.

Cuthbert 12-21-2016 10:00 AM

You had one yet? Any good?

Frownland 12-21-2016 10:01 AM

@plank They're good but definitely not as good as Shuggas. Lagunitas Sucks is usually pretty ****ty in the middle of the year when its furthest away from Shugga season though, so beware. I saw a twelve pack of those, which is pretty exciting for Lagunitas.

It's a little less of a smooth finish like a real BS, but it's ok. A little more of a hoppy/citrusy taste to it too. Like Frowns solid process of purchasing goods I bought it on the merits of it's name.

Edit for ninja effect:

Wtf is a Shugga?

lol

Yep, not nearly as good as a BS. I still have 3 from a sixer tucked away in the back of the fridge.

I guess my beer is generally more potent than yours, though not always certainly, but at 3 16oz 6-packs a week I imagine you'd have to be a falling down drunk all the time to beat me. I call bull**** on your math.

Frownland 12-23-2016 02:53 PM

I drink four beers a day, give or take. Of these. Isn't Steel Reserve only 8.2%?

8.1. And do you drink that much yearly? Cause if so, respect.

Frownland 12-23-2016 02:56 PM

I'm not belligerent for no reason.

It might be our drinking habits too. I usually go slowly all day and then do a dash at the end when it's closer to bedtime.

I generally go for around five to six hours a day, three times a week. And that's a guess honestly. I might be a day over that by this time, but I think in general over a year it's about three times a week.

Frownland 12-23-2016 03:00 PM

I'm an every day or I get the shakes kinda guy.

The Batlord 12-23-2016 03:12 PM

I could drink more than I do easily, but I'm gonna drink whatever you put in front of me, and since I have to wake up at 4:30am six days a week, I would be wrecked for work if I drank more than a six-pack in one sitting at a time.

Key 12-23-2016 10:51 PM

A **** ton of coors light.

lol Of course I drink more like people from France with my wine intake but my spirits is up there as well.

OMFG, I reduced the amount of wine and left the spirits the same and it said I drink sort of like people from Grenada which makes prefect sense because my father is from there along with his side of the family.

grindy 12-24-2016 03:22 AM

My beer reserve for tonight. There'll also be a lot of homemade Slivovitz involved, so I'm gonna be ****ing wasted.

Are those Old West outlaws?

Cuthbert 12-26-2016 03:40 AM

Lambrini lol

Reminds me of 13 year old girls

@Chula

Plankton 12-28-2016 03:36 PM

I'd been eyeing these up for a while now, and finally dropped some coin on a sixer. Not too bad. A little on the hoppy side with some strong citrus tones. Reminds me of the Hefeweizen's I used to get when I was in Deutschland but not as smooth.

Goofle 12-28-2016 05:27 PM

Captain Morgan's rum and some root beer or shandy depending on what I pick up.

It's okay. TBH when they came out with it I was concerned about the quality of the seasonal releases this year. I thought their hop supplier or farmer had ****ed up.

I mean, it's good and a nice, refreshing, citrusy, hoppy but not skunks beer, but I come to Lagunitas for the strong stuff and maltier flavour, not this *googles* 6.3%?

...

I think I confused Aunt Sally and the Stoopid Wit. Both are a lot weaker than I'd like, but both are very delicious. Pretty sure I have the right flavour in mind though, Sally's a sour and I would notice that.

On my second lagunitas imperial stout 22 and I have two thoughts.

1: where the **** is he?
2: damn this is really ****ing strong.

cranberry strong ale that tastes like bubblegum with just the right amount of burn for 11% = very satisfied 4.5/5

also while on the subject of lagunitas I've never been disappointed with them except in the case of the stoopid wit, just tasted unbalanced to me when I had it. I even had their pilsner at a mystery beer night a couple days ago and enjoyed it even though I usually don't care for the style. my favorites of theirs are brown shugga and 12th of never.

Not all IPAs are created equally.
