amy and i have both learned alittle,...though it sounds funny mixed with my accent you know,... he's commin here, and we've got all kinds of fun texan things planned for him to do......though i'm sure most of his time he'll want to spend just hanging out with amy,...... i was just thinkin it might make him more comfortable for us to have some 'homey' things here for him

How long is he going to be here? A long time?
I don't know about him, but when I go visit someplace different the last thing I want to do or see is things from where I'm from. I say stick with the Texas stuff and roll with it! He'll have a blast.

he'll be here alittle over two weeks,....
i've already told amy he cant come here and not see the hill country,....so,.....i'm thinkin a show at gruene hall, the river, luckenbach also,...billy bobs, just because its so iconiclly ft worth,.... we've come up with a bunch of options so he can kinda pick and choose while he's here,....he may just want to hole up at amy's house, which is fine too,.... oh and get this,...he's never had mexican food,.....so i'm thinkin joe t garcia's in ft worth,......that way there can be mexican food, and barefooted sundress dancein under christmas lights in march hey, have you been to galveston lately? i havent since ike,......i'm wonderin if we should make a coastal run too

I haven't been to Galveston since Ike...but really though, it kinda sucks to begin with. It's not all that pretty. Wouldn't you be better of taking him to South Padre or Corpus Christi or something?

i'm goin to pretend that last little big about galvestion wasnt said,...
sure its not the most beautiful beach,...but for historic value its great,....and moody gardens,....and the now washed away balinesse room,....while watchin ike, i cried when it washed away,.... i dunno,....maybe just because its closer,...i've always been fond of it,....when i was in high school, i used to skip out for two or three days, and take naps in my truck on the beach,....load up a few books and maybe my fly rod and i was good to go anyway,..i digress i'm also way excited about feeding him barbecue and i think we should take him campin on the puluxy, but amy says he wont care about dinosaur tracks ah well i tend to get overly excited about things oh oh oh wifey this is kinda funny,....today we were askin him what we needed to get for breakfast and stuff,....he said pancakes 'because dont all americans eat pancakes every morning for breakfast' (btw,...i saw bluebonnets for the first time this year this weekend,...have you seen any yet?)

I'll give you the bit about Galveston's historical value. I guess that's really the only part of Galveston I've ever really enjoyed, was the tours and buildings, and Moody Gardens of course. I've just never been crazy about the beach. One year the family went and a portuguese manowar wrapped around my legs and stung the shit out of me...freaked me out so bad. Thankfully my dad was there to brush it off. But I've been stung twice since then by jelly fish and so I just prefer to stay out of the water now.
All American's eat pancakes huh? lol. I haven't had pancakes in years. But...that just goes to show that he seems to be pretty interested in doing "American" stuff while he's here...whatever his perception of that might be. You've seen bluebonnets already? Lucky you...I haven't seen any yet, but then I haven't ventured out of the big city for a while now. Everything inside Houston is still pretty dead. However, there is a house down the street from me that every spring has tons of bluebonnets growing in the bar ditch right out front of them. I know it doesn't sound that pretty, but it's just gorgeous. It's nice to have that little bit of pure Texas nature right here in the city. I'll take a picture of it if I can ever remember to. You know, the livestock show and rodeo's gonna be in town while he's here too...can't get much more Texas than that.
