I got 18 and I'm surprised it wasn't worse. There's been some recent research that suggests that you can actually build back your hearing a little bit.

I was just arbitrarily throwing a number out there. However I wouldn't get offended if someone thought I was 15 instead of 17 or if we were doing this by percentage if someone thought I was 14.

I'm not offended, I'm annoyed. This isn't the first time someone has thought I was 12 (though I will have to take that back, seeing as you just threw that out there).

Also, there's more of a difference between a 12 and 14 year old than there is between a 15 and 17 year old.
