The Kinsey scale

Thought it'd be interesting to see how musicbanter fares in the sexuality department according to Kinsey...

The scale is purely a method of self-evaluation based on your individual experience.

The scale ranges from 0, as those who would identify themselves as exclusively heterosexual with no experience with or desire for sexual activity with their same sex, to 6, as those who would identify themselves as exclusively homosexual with no experience with or desire for sexual activity with those of the opposite sex, and 1-5 as those who would identify themselves with varying levels of desire or sexual activity with either sex.

Is this a public poll?

And give an example of the difference between these two options please;

Predominantly heterosexual, only incidentally homosexual.
Predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual.

adidasss 02-28-2009 02:42 AM

No of course it's not a public poll, I'm not after "outing" anyone involuntarily ;)

I think that's left to your own interpretation, but I figure the former would be someone who isn't attracted to the same sex but isn't adverse to experimenting in a given situation, and the latter includes some actual sexual interest. :\

right-track 02-28-2009 02:45 AM

As I guessed. Thanks.

I'll vote later. ;)

FireInCairo 02-28-2009 04:03 AM

I fit somewhere between 1 and 2

DearJenny 02-28-2009 04:32 AM

I only sleep with guys. But from my experience I've kissed girls and theres really no difference. Some girls are really good kissers.

The Unfan 02-28-2009 05:19 AM

Somewhere between 0 and 1, and refraining from voting just yet. Where do t-girls fall in regards to gender?

adidasss 02-28-2009 05:36 AM

And t-girls would be?

I like to think I could have a threesome with another dude and a girl, but the more detailed I get about it the more I realize I'm exclusively heterosexual.

Though some wouldn't know that from my gorram username.

Double X 02-28-2009 11:38 AM

pansexual..so sort of number 4, not really any of these though.

Farfisa 02-28-2009 12:01 PM

Never kissed a guy, buttsex makes me cringe. I think I'm exclusively heterosexual but, I haven't had a girlfriend in amost two years.

Unless you've been the one saying no to girl's advances, then it's not your fault that you haven't had a girl in two years, a fact that doesn't determine whether you're closer to homosexual than heterosexual.

I'm heterosexual. I'm not afraid to admit a man's attractiveness though :\

Yup.... that be me

The Unfan 02-28-2009 01:54 PM

Going with a 1. I like females, but I've seen some with nice ****s.

ProggyMan 02-28-2009 01:54 PM

0.5.

Well ive seen the movie, Kinsey. i don't want Liam Neeson, i'd want laura linney 100% of the time that puts me at a 0, however i grew up wishing i was *** even just a little bit, it didn't take, my mother was a what we affectionately!!! refered to as a "***-hag" of the first degree and growing up in the bay area in the "early ladies eighties ", if you know what i mean... everyone was *** or acted ***, the coolest parties , the best jokes, the happiest group of bitter crybabies i've ever seen( about 15 min. ago ) my nextdoor homojust left, so that may put me as a 1 and a 1/2 on Kinsey's scale cause, after a zanax and a joint and watching rocky horror, who knows? i wanted to be Frankenfuter more than i wanted Franky, but i look like Eddy and the only girl for me is a sweety from texas, as far from the duderanch as you could possibly get and she trips the trigger every time, mmmmmmmm come on, show some love for the monogomysts, tryin' our best not to screw any more lives up than we have to.

lucifer_sam 02-28-2009 04:39 PM

I never knew there was an actual scale that Kinsey had.

I'm predominantly heterosexual but I have no problem with homosexuality or male intimacy; one of my good friends is gay and I think he's got one of the most warm personalities I know.

Feign 02-28-2009 05:54 PM

I'm a 5, I've been attracted to girls, but not to the point where I'd want to have sex with them. I don't get why most guys can't admit when a guy looks good, since it's no problem for me to do it with a girl.. I guess it's just too taboo =|

Right there with ya. Personally I could never touch a guy sexually, but having homosexual friends is one of the greatest blessings. I work with a ton of them, and unlike what ignorant macho heterosexuals think, not all homsexual guys are attracted to heteresexual guys, meaning that just because I talk to a *** guy it doesn't mean that he'll start hitting on me from then on.

TBH they're nothing special, just regular guys who like other guys.

Also, I have no problem calling other guys attractive. I will tell them, as long as I know them and they know that I'm straight (don't need any confusion, of course). I wouldn't get into detail though, like talking about their bums or how muscular they are :P but I would say things like "hey, that's a handsome guy. I would like to look like that"

I think I'm mostly heterosexual and only incidentally homosexual. I've never had homosexual experiences but I think I will. maybe

I would go further and say that homosexual guys are rarely attracted to heterosexual guys.

Being condescending never made anyone popular :)

I wasn't being condescending at all. I was only talking from experience. As you say, many heterosexuals think that because homosexual guys are attracted to men, that they are going to be attracted to straight men, and that just is not my experience for myself nor for my friends. I was just stating a fact, not trying to be condescending. For instance, if a straight woman were to say that she was attracted to men, but rarely to g-ay men, this wouldn't be condescending, just stating a fact. And I wouldn't be offended by her statement. Sorry if I offended (though, from your smile, I don't think you were offended, just being funny). Just setting record straight (so to speak) :)

I've definitely only ever been attracted to the point of action with women. Given the choice, it's no contest for me. In fact sometimes I really wonder why women bother with men. Sure glad some of you still do though.
