Monterey is absolutely crazy with wildlife, though. The birds walk on the sidewalk and really don't give a damn. They linger everywhere and just...wait. It's sort of amusing (and sad) to watch them fight over the things people toss at them.

San Diego had a lot of seagulls as well. I even noticed that ones around the area of MCAS Miramar (like in Mira Mesa or something) were totally unfazed by fighter jets landing and taking off.
