Look I like Horse the Band, Thursday, Taking Back Sunday, Brand New, Alkaline Trio, Streetlight Manifesto and a bunch of other bands I should probably be ashamed of for liking because they're not diy or whatever but the truth is Warped Tour sucks. Get over it, go to a house show.

Great, feel that way... but a Warped Tour thread has just as much of a place on a music forum as some obscure krautrock thread.

I feel the same way. I'm not ashamed of anything I like. Guilty pleasures is a dumb concept. There's negative stuff to be said about Warped Tour so it's being said. There's probably tons of wonderful things being said about across every high school if that makes it all better.

I completely agree. If you're ashamed for liking a band, it just shows that you're worried about what others will perceive of you for liking it, and that you try to make an image about yourself for others to see based on your music tastes. Ugh. There's so much I want to say about that...

Just like what you like. Who cares about what other people think...its YOUR music tastes and this is a music forum. . .I really am surprised by the lack of acceptance of forms of music and this superior thing going on; not cool. Its good that not everyone is like that though.

Bringing someone else down is the biggest indicator of immaturity. Its okay to have opinions but the Hive mentality takes it too far.

[BTW - not directed at a person but "you" refers to anyone who is actually ashamed of the music they listen to, or feels they should be!]

swim: It's not that I like Warped Tour so much, I think it's crappy and ad-city... I guess my beef is that some people like that music, and in the big scheme of things it's just as good as any David Bowie.
