I expect one day we will have chips in our heads that give us a mental nudge when someone posts in our subscriptions.

But seriously, you can turn on email notification probably .. and then having a device like a mobile phone or something that says "yo, you got mail" could work if you're willing to deal with all the MB spam.

Considering the way the subscribe threads feature malfunctions here and spams your inbox, you probably wouldn't want an app like that on your phone.
