Right, I was just wondering if you were able to guess location in a very broad sense. It's like with me and English accents, I'm not from there so I'm not very good at putting the accent with the place but a lot of the time I can tell if someone is from northern England or southern England based on their accent. And I can definitely pick out a Liverpool accent.

Zoom out a bit and Moss Side is around where Platt Fields Park is on the map, just south of the University.
What the hell were you doing there? And I'm not surprised you got lost. I am surprised you got out in one piece though.

We were trying to find the Apollo in a Fiat Cinquecento with no power steering and stopped there to read the map. The centre is a f*cking open-plan labyrinth. I knew where we were and it slapped us out of the 'ooh I've just had Wimpy on the M6 near where Joy Division lived' cultural tourist daydream.

But seriously after one night I got home and was already making provisional plans to move there which of course never came to fruition... it was just good vibes and disarmingly friendly people (I wasn't hammered).

I was born and raised in San Francisco, and moved to TN about 3 years ago.
I never realized there was such thing as a California accent. ._.
Luckily I still haven't picked up the twang. I praise god.

Anyways I hate southern accents. Oddly enough, I love Bronx accents.

Heh. You are not the first Californian I've run into that's thought that.
