In all seriousness, I lost my Boston accent along time ago from moving around a lot. These days, for some reason, I occasionally get people asking me if I'm Canadian but that's about it. Nobody ever guesses I'm from Boston.

There are no accents I hate to tell the truth. There are some I find funny, like a Michigan accent or a Dutch accent, but none that I hate. One accent I absolutely love is an Indian accent, maybe it's because when I was little my pediatrician was an Indian guy, but for some reason I find the accent very soothing. I have similar feeling about Irish accents though for some reason they sound a lot better coming from a woman to me than from a man. I'm also a pretty big fan of Jamaican accents, which works out well for me since all my in-laws are Jamaican.

I could listen to Patois all day long.

It's really interesting being around older people who speak it because from them it almost sounds like another language. Whenever we visit with my grandmother-in-law it's always a real challenge for me to follow the conversation. I'm getting better all the time though.

I'm a Londoner through and through and have thusly got the accent to go with it unfortunately. Though i've grown to be fond of the way i tyalk in a strange way.

As for my favourite accents, the French, Scottish and certain American accents (i dont know the specific states, ive just heard ones i like) all go down well

I can't think of any accents I dislike either. Don't dislike a Boston accent, but it does make me laugh sometimes. :)
I love a soft Southern drawl, but the heavy backwoods, hillbilly thing that some Southerners have has got to go! I myself am guilty of saying "y'all", and my relatives in Alaska and Ohio never stop teasing me about it.
And I love a Jamaican accent...I have a couple friends from Jamaica, though you can't tell they are from the islands until they get mad...it's pretty funny actually.

And as far as you Brits...I don't descriminate...you're all invited to my house to sit and talk to me. :love:

Hmmm... now you've got me wondering which ones you like. Are you able to tell the difference between broader sets of American accents, like northern versus southern or is it all kind of similar sounding to your ears? Just curious.

If you want to know what a Guernsey accent sounds like just imagine a Frenchman talking in a Cornish accent. Thankfully I take after my mother and wasn't cursed with this accent like my Dad is.

They both have very, very light midwestern accents. So maybe a toned down midwest accent is what does it for you? :)

You didn't answer my question though. Can you tell the difference between really broad categories of American accents like northern and southern or does it all sounds kind of the same to you?

Yeah i can differentiate when i hear them, they dont all sound the same to me. I just cant put a location to them, mainly because i'm not American
