My Zune hates me
Does anyone know why I might be getting this message repeatedly when I try to load music on my Zune?
http://i36.photobucket.com/albums/e40/ssgyrl/zune.jpg I've done exactly what it says to do on the message...repeatedly. I've tried the web help...which gets me nowhere. I've tried deleting all the songs off my Zune and reloading them...it seemed to work once, but now it won't let me reload anything. So I'm stuck with an empty MP3 and no way to load any music onto it. :( Has this happened to anyone else? PLEASE HELP!!! |
You'd probably have better luck posting on the Zune forums. They usually find fixes for everything, and if they can't help you, they'll help you find someone that can.
|
The first mistake you made was actually buying a Zune.
|
Zunes are pretty reliable. And if you can't fix it, they'll usually replace it, if it's under warranty.
|
Thanks for the input. I know a few others on here have Zunes and was just wondering if they had come across the same problem and what they did. I'll check out the Zune forums.
Unfortunately I don't have a warranty. I bought mine for cheap because it was the display model. Which was probably my first mistake. Thanks again. |
Yeah, display models are always a bad choice. The First PS2 I bought was a display model, and I had to take it back within the week I got it.
|
Try leaving it on until it runs out of battery, and then try again. I had a similar problem once with my Zune and that solved it.
|
I'll try it. Thanks. :)
|
Well, I figured out what was wrong. Reloaded all my music last night.
This morning I restart my Zune and it freezes. Come to find out from looking at the Zune website that all 30G Zunes are having some sort of Y2K9 meltdown and are all frozen. Great. I'm about to chunk this thing out the window... |
Ze Zombies Zune zyndrome!
|
My sister's Zune 30 works fine.
That's weird. |
Really? I'm surprised...there are actually news articles on MSNBC talking about the mass crashing of all Zune 30's.
Good for her though. I'm completely envious and missing my music. |

Also, disassembling the Zune could negate the warranty (if you have one). |
Yeah, I just read somewhere that it will probably start working tomorrow, some people think that it's just a software error due to the leap year (it only goes up to 365 days, there are 366 this year due to leap year, and that ****s up the software). So no music for me today :(
|
Well, my sister's froze. But, hopefully it'll work tomorrow.
I feel lucky. I got my Zune 120 on Christmas. |
Bastard.

In the right situations... :p: |

My batteries already discharged, now I just have to wait until 4 am. I can't wait to listen to music again :)
|
I had my friend's zune on new year's eve and the same thing happened to me. I thought I broke it until I looked it up.. that would have sucked.
|
My Zune 120 has been acting weird and I just bought it a few weeks ago. Anyone else have problems with the scroll/touch wheel not working right?

If you're having problems with the sensitivity, you could turn off the Touch Pad. |

That better not happen to my Zune. 120G, though. I've only had it for a week or so. |
The Zune 120 is allll gravy.
Mine hasn't messed up yet. |
Again...bastard.
|
Hm.
I don't know. Did you get it working again? Or did you get a new one? |
OK...continuing my Zune saga...
Has anyone else been having problems putting (and keeping) music on their Zune since doing the latest software update? Ever since I ran the latest update, I'll put music on my Zune, go to play it later and what'dya know, it's not there. At first I thought maybe I was just remembering wrong, and I didn't actually load X album, but after it started happening more I began paying more attention. I KNOW I keep loading all these albums, sometimes they take, and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they do load, and then a week later they aren't. What gives? |
It happens with my sister's Zune. She just literally places each song on her Zune.
Because when I just plugged it in, it didn't sync like it used to. =\ |
Does she have the latest Zune software installed? I was having that problem back in August when I bought mine off my buddy. It wouldn't ever want to connect and show up on the software. Finally I installed the newest version (4.0 I think) and now it connects every time without fail. The only time it gets a little sketchy is if the USB connection isn't fully plugged in.
|
It's only been since I installed the latest version of the software that I've been having this specific problem.
Sometimes it syncs and sometimes it doesn’t. Sometimes I have to disconnect and reconnect multiple times before it will sync. Then the albums will say they have loaded on the Zune, when they actually haven’t. I’m pretty sure it’s from the devil. Never again. |
I'll try that when I get home for break. I don't know, though. It was when that software was new, do you know what I mean?
It was before this version came out. |
Haven't had any problems with the new software...back before the update I had this glitch where Enter Sandman would sync a new copy every time I connected my Zune. I reformatted and that fixed it, by the time I did that I had 300 something copies though :p:
I will say that I believe a lot of my previous problems with album art/weird stuff happening was because I was trying to use the Zune software to tag, which is a nightmare. Now that I'm using MM + Mp3Tag to tag, my music syncs to my Zune fine. |
I use my Zune software as little as possible...only to load the music because I have to.
I tried reformatting. No luck. Maybe my house has some force field around it that causes technology not to work inside it. |
