yeah where i live piercings and tattoos are very popular, i surprised someone when they were told i have none of these, really strange. everyone is talking about what kind of piercing they want, or tattoo. come to think of it, none of my friends are without a piercing. stretchers are very popular too. of course im not against people doing this, i see no point in it, and do not plan on getting any.

I dont have a problem with pain. Im convinced nothing will hurt more than getting my nipples pierced. Its just the idea.

I have a mustache tattooed on my finger. There's no meaning behind it. I just get a laugh out of it when I throw it up to my lip and look in the mirror or with my mates. I know I will, one of these days, get a tattoo dedicated to someone, but I also want certain tattoos because I like the design or the artists style and quality of work. Not everything's got to have a meaning.

You don't HAVE to have a meaning but that's what they were originally intended for. The Maoris and the British have had a long tradition of tattoos as a tribal stamp (other cultures i'm sure too) and unfortunately that has been lost with the explosion of body art over the last ten years.

Both my tattoo's have meanings but it's not essential. However if there is a story behind it then it gives the art extra significance.

Oh right.
I was just going to assure you that it doesn't hurt to have it done. It hurts afterwards when your tongue's nice and swollen and you bite it all the time, but otherwise it's nothing.

Damn I love tattoos and want more but only for the right reasons. I mean; the one on my neck is not visible unless my t-shirt has a low neckline.

As for the seven piercings:

3 in ear lobe
1 in ear pinna
1 in ear tragus
1 in nose
1 in eyebrow

How bad did that hurt? I've often thought about getting one there...

I actually just said this in the Body Mods Poll thread--

I believe that a persons skin is just a canvas and things body modification is a way to decorate your canvas, and express yourself.

I have an assortment of ear piercings, including 00ga lobes, both nipples, left nostril and labret done. I have a 4:20 tattoo on my inner lip, but other than that no others because I am indecisive lol

sheesus just thinking about gauging makes my toes curl... I dont give a **** about piercings you cant see, but a well-placed facial piercing can suit somebody, having a gaping hole in a dangly earlobe is just... not cool. For god's sake go and read a book or something

The only thing I ever had was a chin pin (for some reason its called that, just a stud through the lower part of your bottom lip) and it never stopped being a bit icky and I kept picking it and getting it caught in my bottom teeth whenever eating vigorously.. i had it for ages and took it out once for like a day and it closed up instantly, i do not particularly miss it.
Mutilating yourself is addictive, I wanted more straight away but luckily never got around to it. Plus i've got better things to spend the money i don't have on, it's like people think they have something to prove to the world or themselves, I really don't understand it, but then I don't understand why i spend so much money on tobacco, it's just compulsive and ultimately pointless

It didn't hurt initially the problem was that it didn't take and the tragus started to swell. Consequently the stud started to disappear and i had to rip it out with a pair of pliers Luckily I'm a hard bastard lol

My nose hurt the most I have to say. My eyebrow piercing was with a needle and was no bother- it's my favourite piercing.
