Been a veggie for 28 years because I didn't want to be involved in the 'goings on' of the meat industry. The protein thing that people always bring up is just ......
Can't be bothered really. You don't need to eat meat it's just up to the individual person.

Actually .. while I'm writing this , I have to say that the people who I've met over the years, who go on about the protein thing seem to have one thing in common. They are generally tossers. He .. He.. True .

How someone can not like something as good as a tomato is beyond me. ANY form of tomato is one of my favourite foods, be it juices, sun dried, tinned, baked, raw but even so saying that vegetables don't taste nice suggests an unsophisticated palette and little understanding of food to me.

I eat a lot of vegetarian food (I ran a vegetarian takeaway and designed some of the menu for a couple of years) and it can easily replace meat based dishes at least a couple of times a week.

I have a fair portion of my large intestine and some small intestine missing. who cares about small intestine they pull that **** out like gum on a roll hyuk hyuk hyuk yeah but meat messes me up sometimes man. especially red meat.

I couldnt be vegetarian though. To much roughage and I crap myself. I like pizza I think that's well balanced...I sometimes think eh I could go without meat if I had pizza. But then you get the hardline vegetarians or vegans or whatever, they dont even eat cheese! And after 3 days of pizza, I just think.

I ****ing hate pizza wheres the steaks

AND THEN I MAKE STEAK PIZZA!!!!

This is a really good point. Protein is necessary but it's just one of many things that a human needs to eat to stay healthy. And you don't need to eat the flesh of any mammal or bird or fish to get enough protein. Soy and wheat ('vegetable protein') alone aren't great for humans either, though. Too much of of those can mess up human hormones if you care about your hormonal balance (which you don't necessarily need to care about as a human).

There's no real need for animal protein but, as a person who won't eat flesh I find that eggs are a healthy source of protein. And eggs fall into the category of 'meat' if you think about it.

I hate them. So watery and.. bland. I do like quite a few vegetables though! Carrots, peppers, onions, potatoes, corn, green beans, peas, broccoli, artichokes, water chestnuts, etc. All fantastic. I'm not a fan of squash though, and it's for the same reason I'm not a fan of tomatoes.

I REALLY wanna try this dish:
