I have a huge problem with people who throw around the word "opinion" as if it's some form of shield that deflects any question or disagreement. I don't have to respect your opinion if it's something that's founded on utter bullsh*t. (now before anyone gets angry, I'm using "your" in a collective sense, not directed at any one person). If someone tells me their "opinion" is that the earth is flat, I don't have to respect it, and telling them that they are an idiot does not make me any less of a respectful person, it just means that I don't listen to bullsh*t without calling it.

well, my response is that that's an incredibly arrogant, intolerant and closed-minded view of the world and other people. that's their opinion, and I'm telling them why it's condescending and bigoted.

what you'll learn soon is that everyone here loves to argue. only we dont call it arguing. it's banter. and if everyone just replied with "well, that's an interesting opinion, here's what I think" it would be dull as hell. there are many threads that have gone on like that, and they're in the back pages of the hundreds upon hundreds of pages of threads because everyone got so bored of posting in them

no, i would be saying "f*ck your opinion" if it is founded on utter bullsh*t. If your opinion is based off of facts and reasonable and rational thinking, then you're entitled to think what you like.
