Well I believe everything happens for a reason and we're all guided by a divine force...so...

We are guided by our urges to eat and fuck. If people have faith then fantastic, but we are just creatures in an evolutionary chain. If we are being guided then it is the worst advice ever. Man, despite his abundant intelligence; is a base creature who does not live in sync with nature. We are a fuck up-simple as that.

If it fit's into your agenda...I guess the crusades and the holocaust were all results of divine force too. Good stuff happens. Bad stuff happens. If you truly look at everything that has happened in history there is no feasible way you can say there is a divine force always guiding us.

It's not pessimism though Marijan. Just my view. Every single animal on the planet lives by a code that is not broken. There is no unnecessary killing or subjucation. Only humans with their 'superior' intellect, consistently break this code.

Sounds cold and pessimistic to me...I could never live like that. And it baffles me that anyone could reduce us to shit producing machines when there's so much around us to prove otherwise. :\

What is around us though? We have made our own lives better but to the detriment of other species and nature itself.

I think that you are perhaps reading my thoughts wrong. Human beings are capable of acts of oustanding bravery and devotion. However we treat the planet as a plaything and are now only just realising the extent of our folly. Why are we so hellbent on creating destruction amongst ourselves?

A bad description i know but: A lion will mercilesly hunts it's prey, rip it apart for meat with not any thought about consequences. It needs food and will find it. Yet a few hours later both the hunter and the hunted may well be drinking water from the same pool and nothing will happen.

Humans cannot do this. They desire and want and need and want to sate their flesh at every available opportunity. We eat when we are not hungry and drink when we are not thirsty. We do not fit into natures chain. We cannot change this now and neither should feel bad about it either. By knowing our faults, we can then work upon our positives and try to redress the many imbalances we have caused.

Humans break the 'code' I think because we're the only creatures who actually question our existence and wonder why we are here. Humans challenge nature and question and explore new identities. As opposed to animals, who just have food and reproduction on their minds.

But then again I can think of quite a few humans that just have food and reproduction on their minds...
