The truth has a way of making comedy unfunny, doesnt it.

Perhaps a video on guitar would cheer you up and change your views.

It does, and I could tell allllllll about the truth of the 'Women.' post but I won't because I've come to learn that nobody wants a good sexist joke shattered by gender arguments.

On the other hand, the vast majority of men I've met, with a few exceptions, have quite easily out-loyalty'd the majority of women.

"They know how to comfort a sick friend. "

Not an especially female skill. Its not like I'm bad at it for example, whereas I know plenty of women who couldn't make someone feel better if they had a million pounds in their pocket and were a fully trained doctor.

Women have a will of iron under that soft exterior. No they don't. Again, I can name plenty of women who just crack at the first sign of pressure. In fact, my best female friend is one of these people.

They will go the extra mile to help a friend in need. Beyond a few token words, I've yet to see evidence of this, whereas on the other hand, I have friends with abusive families who have frequently stayed the night at male friends houses when its needed, and then had said man do shopping for them because they've had no makeup or clean underwear with them.

Women are easily brought to tears by injustice. Why is this a good thing? This whole 'crying is good' thing is bull****. Do something about it. Don't let the floodgates open as an excuse to sit there doing nothing.

Women bring joy and laughter to the world. Based on what exactly? Using comedians as an example, all the best ones I know of are male. On the female side we have ellen degeneres and jo brand...yeah. Hilarious.
You obviously have never met a woman then. What women lack in physical strength they more than make up in emotional strength. You think men rule the world? Wait until you get married and observe what a woman does. My other half annoys the crap out of me but I could never be without her. She has got through a lot more pain than I have.

Like I said above, I know a whole boatload of women who crack at any kind of emotional situation and pretty much become completely helpless until someone (usually me) gives them a wakeup call and a hand in dealing with it. This ranges from people with completely normal homelives and no real work stress, all the way to people with racist drunkard parents who will actualyl start an argument for no reason then kick their own flesh and blood into the street just because they know she'll ring me to get put up for the night.

Its not a matter of being used to jack **** or more innately able to deal with it. I haven't been through jack compared to that second friend, but i'll be damned if it isn't always me who deals with ****ty situations more rationally and effectively, and has more experience and tact being the consoling friend. And thats not jack **** to do with being a man it just means I don't crack as easily as she does.

So right out the window goes your 'womens emotional strength surpasses mens' argument.

But whatever, this is just a big ol' can of worms with an argument for EACH AND EVERY counterargument.

I'll just leave with this: Equality between the sexes sure as hell doesn't exist yet, but I see a damned sight more equality around when people just get the **** on with life and don't think about the damned war these arguments always encourage.

It's not easy to forget about equality of the sexes and just "get the **** on with life" when you're receiving less wages than you would if you were a man, and when you're constantly being patronized and reminded that you are the 'lesser' sex, and when 1 in 4 women will be sexually assaulted in her lifetime due to the way women are portrayed as subordinate to men in every avenue of representation and the men that choose to believe this...

I choose not to get the **** on with life, but to argue about equality as long as I live because having a vagina has already cost me so many disadvantages in my life and I'm only 21. So don't tell me, or anyone else who feels this way, that there's more equality when people just "get the **** on with life." Because arguing is the only way to achieve equality and move forward.

I think having a child is one of the most emotionally and physically straining things anyone would ever have to go through in their lifetime, and something that would require a world of strength. I'm sure there are some men that are better at dealing with emotions than women... but you don't even have the right to comment on these issues because you have no ****ing idea what it's like being born a girl. A girl has to learn to fight for her rights as soon as she leaves the womb, to a degree that men will never understand.

*deep breath* I knew my soapbox moment would come out sooner or later. Sorry guys.

There's no doubt in my mind that sexism represents just as problematic a social issue as racism in the world today. It is unfortunate that there are people in the world (and an overwhelming majority of men) who have such misguided views about women. And it's complete bullshit. My mother is the strongest person I have ever met.

And just to clear up my ranty post before, I wasn't trying to argue that women are better than men, I think all people are equal (I'm a humanist, not a feminist) I just don't think GuitarBizzarre has place to comment on the misrepresentation of men in this internet post when women are so badly misrepresented and disadvantaged in so many other important areas of life.
