Because I didn't know enough about him at the time. Plus, the county in which I'm registered (Centre County) is VERY conservative, and it would have been a mistake to piss away a vote when McCain has a good deal of support here. Obama carried Centre County something like 60/40 anyways, so I wish I would have.
