Default The cancer of the internet

My bf introduced me to this site a couple of weeks ago and I have pretty much decided it's the worst thing ever to happen to the internet. On my little time on that site I have seen a cat getting burned to death, child porn, a beheaded guy tied to a swing set, and a ridiculous number of vaginas. It's sick.

Anyhow I was wondering if other people view 4chan as the same cancerous monster that I do? Or do they actually enjoy it? And if you do, what exactly do you like about it? Or more what threads do you tend to like?

I'm a non-user because I'm not really a fan of the content. However, I view it as the most beautiful thing the internet has ever brought forth. There is just something about the open chaoticness of it that I find to be really awe inspiring. If ever there were a website that was a demonstration that showed how great humanity is its 4-Chan.

4chan is a great concept and I appreciate most of their work, but I would never associate myself with its members or their stupid "memes"

And then I realized... like I was shot... like I was shot with a diamond... a diamond bullet right through my forehead. And I thought: My God... the genius of that.

so why did you click on any of the links? or go back to the site a subsequent time? is the site really the sickness or is it the desensitized curiosity of our modern society?

i'm with the unfan on this one. nothing wrong with the site. potentially lots wrong with its users.

i don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows
i don't need to watch 2 girls 1 cup to know poo porn is gross
and i don't need to check out 4chan to know just how depraved we can be,

4chan? never heard of it

I went through a phase in my teens of seeking out the most horrific pictures/videos that the internet could offer. I thought it would help to prepare me for the "real world" but instead it's just made me incredibly paranoid and overly aware of my own mortality.

The worst, for me, are beheadings..
One in paticular still haunts me. First they cut their windpipe then they left them for a little while to make desperate and frantic high-pitched breathing noises like a pig. You could hear other people, off camera, chattering happily while this was happening. The "beheader" then returned to finish up.

I also saw one where a guy's hands and feet were cut off with a machete.

Not good
