You wouldn't catch the appeal of Facebook if you're not a college bum. It's not really a forum to meet strangers but to connect to the people you already know. I would never be friends on Facebook with someone I didn't know in real life.

So, I mean, if you don't have that many friends to begin with...

Actually I deleted my facebook account a couple of weeks ago, and before any harsh rebuttals, there are only about 5 people I keep in regular contact with anyway, whatever - out of the hundreds of tenuous 'friends' on there it just seemed pointless.

Moreover I've never been comfortable with the smallprint when signing up to the site (facebook reserves the right to keep and distribute all photos you've been tagged in; dish out your personal stats and info for market research, etc)...

at the end of the day you can live without it... just like people, amazingly, once managed without iPhones and Blackberrys...

apologies for the off topic... checking out 4chan now and y'know... meh.
