The Rejoice thread
I am a miserable old git but the amount of negativity that seems to surround me both socially, politically and online is staggering. Let's celebrate the good things in life, no matter how small.
Today: My fourteen year old son recieved some mock exam results from last term (they were back at school yesterday) and his Maths results were way above average. I have to admit that this is a surprise to us both but very welcome. He is also considering College after leaving school. This is a major result for me. I had a listen to a much anticipated album from one of Metal's finest names and enjoyed it a lot. I provided a few members with new music and that is extremely satisfying for me.

I went kayaking tonight and was hitting all my rolls, which is a great feeling as the last time out it felt as if i'd been knocked back to square one; felt like I did when i was first learning and didnt have a clue how to go about doing a roll. So being "on" today put me in a wonderful mood.
My old camera sold so I got a lovely $400 cheque I bought new ski boots that fit me better than any boot i've ever had my new ski bindings are coming in tomorrow, so they'll be mounted on my new skis this weekend On sunday i'm planning on paddling a section of a river that until this point has really freaked me out. finally got the confidence to run it, and while it's a pretty mellow river for me this is a huge step. In 4 1/2 months i'm going on a 7-10 day ski trip. we're going to a mountain that i've been dreaming of skiing for years. me and my friend have comitted to skiing a run that i've been dreaming of for years, but always kind of doubted whether i'd get the nerves/skill level to do it. This friend is a buddy from NZ whom i havent seen in almost 3 years. i'm stoked. my school is integrating video into our program for the first time. lately i've been really interested in shooting video as well, so this news made me really happy. i have a new macbook that my school gave me. it's the sh*t. life's great.

I finally got a decent pair of headphones.
I got my bike fixed, so I can ride it everywhere again. It's senior year, and I should be able to get straight A's this year for the fist time. In a period of 3 hours, I got a hold of about 5 albums I've been trying to get for several months through the magic of the internet! The temperature is finally going back down from high 70's-80's down to bearable (60's). I'm going to get to write film reviews for my local paper, and get paid for it! Whoo! And I'm 90% finished with shooting my short film. Life is great at the moment
