I got a full time job for the summer starting on May 14th! It's at my dad's workplace - he told me that they hire about 10 students every summer to work in the office, so I applied. I'll just be doing office grunt work, basically, like answering phones, filing, sending faxes, photocopying... all that stuff. It's full time (40 hours/week) and they pay REALLY well. And the hours are great - 7:30-3:30, Monday-Friday - so my evenings and weekends will be free! That means I can still teach music on the side and go out and have fun YAY!

That sounds like an awesome job, congrats Burning . It's also great you can make extra dolla from teaching music and your job won't get in the way.

Thanks Yeah, I'll be able to stash all that money in the bank too because I'm not going anywhere this year. I'll have some saved for next year or even around the holidays, if I get to go somewhere, hopefully southern Europe - the Balkans because my boyfriend wants to take me to see Serbia and then all his family's vacation spots in Greece and Italy... fingers crossed...

Got my G2 today. For you non-Canadians, it basically means I can drive without my parents. It's not a full license, but there are only a couple of restrictions (can't drive with alcohol in your system, limited number of passengers past midnight). I failed the test the first time I took it, so it's a huuuuge weight off my shoulders. My next test isn't for another year.

Congratulations. I remember the freedom that came along with a license, it makes so many more things accessible to you beyond regular transit.

Congrats! I remember when I got my G2 - I failed the test 3 times before I got it. When I finally got it, I was still 16 and felt totally independent. I started driving on the highway right away, and that was so cool. Passing the highway test and getting the G is even better - you're free and only have to renew your license and get a new photo every 5 years.

Congrats. Nepotism eh? Seriously it's good that you can still still do what you love AND get bolloxed at weekends!
