I am one of the finalists in the Sierra Nevada writing competition in the fiction catagory. Even though I didn't get in the top three and hence no prize, it's still quite an honor to be a finalist out of several hundred entries.

My very first article on the sports site's wrestling section made it to the front page and stayed there for over ten hours, racking up over 1,600 reads and over 25 comments. I'm really loving that place.

I'm very happy for my daughter because she has been accepted into a summer research program she didn't think she would be selected for. And the e-mail informing her of the acceptance came on her birthday, so that was a great present for her.
