What are you going to be doing for the tax man?

Mainly data entry. They probably wouldn't care for me telling you this, but they have yet to close off, paperwork wise, several previous tax years and are backlogged!

The contract is only temporary, but it's until March next year. Hopefully I will get a permanent job out of it, but I'm not relying on it.

You've gotta make yourself irreplacable to them and make them require your services. Or just make sure theres always hot coffee and tea readily available.

They are hiring alot of people on these short term contracts, so it may be difficult to get kept on. But I'm gonna be a long time, for a temp contract, so can probably get myself involved in any other positions they may advertise in my time there.

Regardless, having a government office on your cv is a bonus and should stand you in good stead for future employment.
