Sometimes, I wonder where the concept that Americans don't understand irony comes from. Then I'm reminded.

Personally, I don't see anything wrong with trying to expand your music taste. But there's two ways it could go. You could actually just listen to stuff YOU like and not give a **** about anybody else, or you could pretend to be diverse to be cool. Not that you can't still be diverse AND only listen to the stuff YOU like. For example. My music collection ranges from extreme to acid rock to showtunes, from French music to psychedelic. I enjoy every single one of the records/tapes/CDs I own, and all the albums/single songs in my iTunes. However, if one hears a song that they like, and then tried to experiment with that band by downloading more of their stuff/ buying more of it (this is how I got into Bob Dylan! One of my favorite artists of all time) I don't really know how that affects anyone else. Ginsberg would tell you it goes to dope money but, Gins was an LSD feind :p.

Am I for serious? Are YOU for serious?!
Of course it was sarcasm.

If expanding your musical taste is a bad thing, then damn, I'm the worst. It is hard to find music I don't like, lets put it that way.
