ok, to clear it all up, calgary sure as hell isn't bilingual, thats only in eatern canada, alberta (my province) is basically the hick central of canada. And the biggest mall is in edmonton, its called West Edmonton Mall, with a huge waterpark and amusement park right in the mall. Ok, as for snowboarding, if your in BC, go to whistler or Fernie, in Alberta, kickinghorse, sunshine, Red, Louise (has a good park, but it can get icy as hell), umm lets see what else, if you're in calgary, COP (canada olympic park) has a sweet terrain park but the rest of the hill is basically a bunny hill. Whistler's got a good park, but if you go there, you have to ski the mountain, its just a crime if you go there and don't get into the powder and the chutes and bowls and everything. Fernie's park isn't really very good, but their terrain MORE than makes up for it.

excellent most gratful. i was gonna apply for a job in whistler before i left through some organisation. apparently theres a lot of aussies working on your ski fields and the owners love them. so, hopefully, ill be one of them.
iv also heard of fernie from a friend that went there. and the fields in the rockies are apparently awsome. then again, there could be 2 metres of snow and itll beat the **** out of the fields here. there are some good mountains here, but 1m of snow is "good to excellent" conditions. stupid dry nation...

hmm, try getting a job at a shop, employee discounts are great. Or if you want to put in more of a commitment, get certified to be an instructor, but don't do it if you don't like working with kids, otherwise, you'll have some problems. Also, if you've got a class of 3 year olds don't go to work hungover, I've seen many an instructor do that, it doesn't end well

haha, yeah hangovers take the fun out of basically everything. If you're looking to see about being an instructor, here's the site for the Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructors:
http://www.casi-acms.com/english/index_welcome.html and if you're looking to work in some kind of retail store there, here's a great site that lists the pages of a ton of shops in the town: http://www.findwhistler.com/page.cfm/2678
