For a country with the 2nd highest murder rate, and over 9,000 criminal organizations, they sure know how to use their police force effectively.

Alfred 07-23-2008 07:26 PM

Wow, that's just ****ed.

I blame Jimmy Eat World for the emo stereotype.

The UnderOATH fan once again shows he is ever so bright.

Alfred 07-23-2008 09:29 PM

Last time I checked, Underoath wasn't a post-emo band in the 90's.

Jimmy Eat World released one post-emo album, and then went completely mainstream, "influencing" other bands.

Although, that's not to say that SDRE wasn't involved.

I don't see where Underoath comes into this, aside from having scene cred.

sleepy jack 07-23-2008 09:35 PM

It's terribly ironic this little 'punk rock' kid runs around listening to UnderOATH while saying "emo" sucks. Jimmy Eat World aren't even ****ing scene.

Predator 07-23-2008 10:26 PM

I think they should declare emo a danger to society and allow us to shoot emo ***s on sight.

sleepy jack 07-23-2008 10:28 PM

I very strongly disagree. We should slit their wrists instead.

Russians never did like Darwin.

lucifer_sam 07-24-2008 12:15 AM

What do Russians have to be emo about?

It was sarcasm. Russia sucks, I know. My best friend lives there.

Piss Me Off 07-24-2008 04:03 AM

If my country forbid me from wearing what i want i'd be depressed and kill myself out of spite.
Flaw in their plan!

I've never said that emo sucks. I say the fad sucks.

I'm aware that JEW isn't scene, but I've seen scene bands cite them as influences, namely Fall Out Boy.

I think you've completely misunderstood me.

Yeah, I like a bit of their stuff.

Urban Hat€monger ? 07-24-2008 08:34 AM

Those kids in Russia should hire some of the emo snobs from this forum as defence lawyers.

'You are charged with owning an underoath album'

'UNDEROATH ISN'T EMO YOU F*CKING NOOB'

...Case dismissed

Muzak 07-24-2008 02:53 PM

In Soviet Russia...

Piss Me Off 07-24-2008 02:58 PM

Hair straightens you!

right-track 07-24-2008 03:02 PM

Fall Out Boy also cites Gorilla Biscuits and Joy Division are you going to start blaming them for the emo fad too? You know who else a bunch of faux-emo bands cite as influences? The Misfits, Suicidal Tendencies, Nofx, The Sex Pistols, The Clash, The Ramones, Black Flag, Descendants, Bad Religion and countless other "real punk" bands. I'm not misunderstanding you you're trying to blame a perfectly decent band for a trend that all the bands you worship have much more of an effect on and it's ridiculous. Almost as ridiculous as you listening to the bands of the fad you're bashing.

Alfred 07-24-2008 04:07 PM

Okay, here's a tip. The next time I make a contraversial/debateable statement like that, I'm probably not being serious. I don't seriously blame Jimmy Eat World for it. The only reason I got into an argument with you about it is because you brought up how I listen to Underoath. The best thing for you to do is ignore me in these situations, because I'm tired of having to tell you that I'm not being serious.

Underoath and Story Of The Year are about the only bands that you could place in this fad that I like anyways. I like Underoath for their music, and not how scene they are. Do you see me dressing up emo? No, in fact, I don't dress like the music scene of any music I listen to, whether it be punk, or emo. Music is music.

If I was serious about this though, you have very good points.

I will admit, I misunderstood some of what you were saying too.

This is 'ilarious and awesome. You think we're going to enter an emo-genocide race with the Russians? I think we owe them to show how fast we can trim well-banged heads. And by "trim," I mean decapitate!

People, you know this is actually really really bad right?

sleepy jack 07-24-2008 10:29 PM

Gee Sherlock you think?

ProggyMan 07-24-2008 10:39 PM

You sure are original...

ProggyMan 07-24-2008 11:02 PM

Seriously? The government taking away the right to freedom of expression?

sleepy jack 07-24-2008 11:05 PM

They're taking away an expression that is detrimental to society away. What is wrong with that?

ProggyMan 07-24-2008 11:18 PM

Really, a style of dress is detrimental to society? How are they going to enforce it, charge guys who wear make-up and dress in black with premeditative suicide?

CAPTAIN CAVEMAN 07-24-2008 11:22 PM

do you live in russia?

ProggyMan 07-24-2008 11:25 PM

No, but do I really need to have on opinion on something like this? If so, why?

It's pretty elitist, snobby, pretentious and downright uncalled for you to criticize the laws of a country you don't even live in.
