I was told i had a strong canadian accent when I was away travelling quite a few times. before I left home I could never really pick out a "canadian" accent. it wasn't until I went for months without hearing other canadians that I realized we really do have a distinctive accent. not the newfies (lets face it, they may as well be a different species) or other maritimers with the "Let's go the berrr eh? it's not that ferrr, we'll take my cerr." But just regular canadian accents. I came home from nz and standing in the airport at home waiting in line for customs, it was the first time that i ever really heard our accents. I heard it again really strongly when i was in asia, hadn't met another canadian in about 3 months, and suddlenly fell in with about 10 of them.

and for the record, i don't say aboot.

I'm from New York City....And apparently we have a very strong accent. I haven't noticed it at all, perhaps because i've lived here so long and everyone talks like that haha...When i went to Georgia for the summer last year EVERYONE knew I was from New York because of the way I say "water"...I don't know, it's weird.

I have a pretty strong Welsh accent, I didn't really realise how strong it was until I went to England last weekend. It's probably one of the uncoolest accents ever.

I love just about any English accent, apart from the southern U.S.A. one...I think it's the slowness of it that gets annoying after a while...:|

I don't blame'em. I absolutely ADORE Greenlandic accents. I met a bunch of them when I was on holiday in Copenhagen last summer.

Doesn't George Bush speak with a southern accent?

I've got an Irish accent(surprisingly enough since I'm irish!) and I like the irish accent on women. Especially the northern Ireland accent! Nothing beats the scottish one though.
