Why do men/boys pop there collars?

I sit here wondering this...

Now i am not talking about the *** community, because you have been doing it for the longest time and your fashion knows no limits.

But why does the average teen, and sometimes dult do it, and what are they possibly thinking?

I didn't know that many people did it outside of the 80's...

Well if I ever wore a collar shirt I left one unpopped because it was kind of tight on the neck. But people who unpop 'em all are just plain SEXY! You didn't notice that? I mean they make it so obvious.

jackhammer 06-10-2008 03:39 PM

I don't do collars if I can help it. Jeans and T-shirt guy I'm afraid.

Meph1986 06-10-2008 03:42 PM

Because they are douchebags.

I know the majority of people inside the hip African oriented persuasion pop their collars because when they dance it helps dirt fleet their shoulders.

That made me chuckle.

OT: I have no idea...I'm sure some people can pull it off but most just look like douchebags...:\

Because, like Elvis, their mums told them they have scrawny necks as a kid.

Sparky 06-10-2008 05:38 PM

Maybe we just wanna look cool >: [

sleepy jack 06-10-2008 05:42 PM

Matious you don't have to try to look cool, you just do.

Sparky 06-10-2008 05:48 PM

For sure. I was speaking on behalf of the other bro's who aren't at my level.

Nosmada 06-10-2008 09:39 PM

I dont know why people do it, but for me once i get a couple beers or drinks in me at a party, i cannot resists the urge to pop it. I dont go as far as some of my friends who starch all their collars, to maintain that stiff pop.

not at all, a lot of my friends actually starch to get that desired pop. and if you want you can buy polo's at abercrombie with stiff collars so there is no starching needed. Its a bro style man.

ya they sell these shirts, hollister might have them too. but their collars are longer and stiff, even after washing and what not. the collars are ment to be poped, they are to long and stiff to wear as normal collars.

Dr_Rez 06-10-2008 11:26 PM

And what might one use to stiffin his own collar. I did not even know this was possible. (starch?)

NSW 06-16-2008 10:07 PM

Beacuse they are preppy *******s, that's why.
Why do Hollister and Abercromble alway smell funny? Has anyone else nticed that?

mamanuthead 06-17-2008 10:24 AM

I think the preppy look should stay in the 80's where it belongs.

Probably because of all the overpriced cologne they spray in there

Preppy is going to as long as their are stores like Abcrombie & Fitch , upper-middle class white kids, and country clubs, they're will always be preps.

Farfisa 06-17-2008 10:36 AM

I hate when people have to Catorgize everyone...it's been said 1,000,000 times that preps are mindless and *******s. Besides, persons that say things of that sort are usually mindless *******s.

sweet_nothing 06-17-2008 10:37 AM

not all preps are bad by the way

Farfisa 06-17-2008 10:55 AM
